So just in the beginning of the school year, I ran into an incident.
My brother (who's in grade 6) and I are always picked up in the high-school parking lot. Well I'm 17 years old, and I'm attending my senior year in high-school.
So one day he got late, and since I was his only ride, since my parents were coming home late, I had to check to see where he was.
I roamed through the middle school until I finally saw him sitting in one of the classrooms.
What if the student is not in the professor's class?
At university level, there is no legal problem, although some universities have codes of practice, especially where the teacher is assessing the student's work.

Breaking those rules could jeopardize the professor's job.
If you're at an institution where there aren't official rules about dating, there are most likely some guidelines or unofficial community expectations. Is it OK to date a professor, so long as you're not in one of his or her classes?
